About the Race

Track Club members pay no entry fee; $3 for non-members

Predict your time; racers are staggered at the start based on their predicted times. Theoretically, everyone would finish together, but this race tends to attract some good liars. The first person to cross the finish line wins the title and gets to put his/her name on the 3-foot-tall traveling trophy.

The race starts at or around 7AM, but only the person who predicts the longest time actually starts running then. Starting times for the rest of the racers depend on their individual predictions.

The first race was run in 1970.

A word about the results: in latter years, the number of columns in the results may be somewhat confusing. The Finish Time is the clock reading when the runner crosses the finish line, but because of the Handicap based on the runner's Prediction, everyone starts at a different time. The Actual Time is the record of how fast the runner ran the 10k course.
