2007 Cross Country Challenge Overall Finish List Dectober 93, 2007 Columbia Track Club | |||||
| This year the club hosted the 2nd running of The Cross Country Challenge at Stephen’s Lake Park on November 11. With typical Missouri weather we had an unseasonably warm day for the event. Our men’s elite team represented us very well on the challenging 6K course racing against Big River Running Company from St. Louis. Matt Laye led our men’s team placing 2nd in 17:45.5. Brian Lyons of Big River Running Company won the event with a time of 17:48.3. Pat Hanson, Jamie Moreno, Eric Bunch, Matt Noonan and Matt Dreier placed 11, 14, 15, 19, and 20 respectively to round out are team. Big River’s A team won the team competition. The women’s 6K was won by Steph Hood of Big River Running Company with a time of 20:45. In addition to the Elite 6K, the Colts raced a 3K. Nicole Mello won the race overall with a time of 11:11. Jordan Cook was 2nd with a time of 12:32, and Nathan Keown was 3rd overall with a time of 13:11. Our youth team again showed just how strong they were, all running excellent times for such a challenging course.
There was a great deal of community and club support at the event which was wonderful to see. All who came to watch were able to see a very competitive cross country race with exceptional athletes racing. Next year we hope for even more teams and participants in the race. | |||||
