| THE GREAT SANDBAGGER 10K HANDICAP RACE August 4, 2007 | |||||||||
| Low 70's, quite humid, somewhat hazy at the 7:00 start. Dan Schoenleber was
sad to have to give up the monster Sandbagger Trophy he had so lovingly
tended for the past year. But, as you can tell from his prediction, he was not
motivated to claim it for another year. Happily he was quick to give the beast, now
topped, by Dan, with a King Kong figure, to Ann Moreton who has promised to
tend to the creature's every need, keeping it in a prominent place in her living
room. This "traveling" trophy has been around now for some 35 years---and it shows,
but it does look regal with the various accouterments it has gathered over the years. Fast time of the day went to Andy Emerson while Chris Lunn was only 4 seconds off his prediction to win that category---but no awards for those two.
