2011 Prevent 5k Overall Finish List October 29, 2011 Columbia Track Club
I would like to thank all of our participants for coming out and supporting us at our 2nd Annual Prevent 5K/10K. Even though most of you were up all night celebrating the Cardinals victory in game 7 to clinch the World Series Championship Title, we still managed a great turnout. This year we had 141 register to run/walk which beat last years number by 60 participants. For the 2nd year in a row we had a perfect day for running. It started off a little cold, warming up to about 41 F for the race start with the sun shining and no wind. I heard lots of wonderful comments including the great course, the awesome shirts, the gift bags, the medals, the raffle prizes, the kids races, the pumpkin decorating, the food, and the beautiful day. None of this would have been possible without the great support we received from our sponsors, our volunteers, our participants and the Big Guy upstairs for the beautiful day. I know you're probably thinking, "isn't this race for charity, how did we get all this great stuff?" Well, it's my goal as a race director to offer you a great race that everyone can enjoy. It was a community effort with local businesses, sponsors and friends all working together to help facilitate a great race and still be profitable to raise money for charity. I am happy to say that we raised over $1,000 to support The MORE Project, Toys for Tots, and The Foundation For The Higher Good.
