2013 Nut Race 5k Overall Finish List February 2, 2013 Columbia Track Club
9:00 a.m., Sunny, Dry Pavement, 27 Degrees F Thirty-six runners started and finished. The first overall male and female were Josh Grotzinger and Katie Hauser. Grotzinger ran cross-country at Missouri State University in Springfield until the administration cut the program. Now he teaches math in high school. His time was 16:16.7, while Katie Hauser was 3rd overall in a time of 18:48.9. It was nice to see Tony Taube, Nancy Fritsch, and Amy Gundy racing along with the Dunwiddie sisters, Amanda and Lisa, who took first and second respectively in the 15 and under age group. We gave out two very nice cans of cashews for 1st male and female along with trail mix, dry-roasted peanuts, and M&M peanuts for 1st – 3rd in the usual age groups. The winners are indicated by an * in the results. Nancy Rezebek made delicious peanut butter bars and put together trail mix baggies for all the runners. Her recipe for the bars is presented below. Tom Allen timed, Randy Gay and I tabulated the finish order, and Anne Hessler and Nancy Rezebek compiled the final results and gave out the awards. --Dick Hessler, race director
