2012 Cheese and Sauerkraut 10M Overall Finish List December 8, 2012 Columbia Track Club
McBaine Bottoms 8:30 a.m. , Cloudy, 41° F, Light North Wind December 8, 2012 Fifty-four runners took advantage of near-perfect road racing conditions, a rock bottom entry fee for non-CTC members, and tasty sauerkraut brownies, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin sauerkraut chocolate chip muffins, Reuben dip, and Reuben sandwiches, courtesy of Nancy Rezabek, Andy Emerson, Becky Hennessy, Nancy Rezabek (again), and Randy Gay respectively. Fifty-one runners went the 10 miles, competing for a big jar of sauerkraut and an assortment of high quality cheeses. Toni Dunwiddie was 14 minutes faster than her predicted time and won the sauerkraut for the worst prediction, beating Bruce Dinwiddie by one minute. Jack Chapman won the cheese with the second best prediction (12 seconds off). Greg Blomquist had the best prediction (11 seconds off), but he left before the award ceremony and I didn’t know where he lives, so Jack was awarded the cheese. Jared Patterson and Jesse Edwards ran the fastest at 1:03:28, and Whitney Dreier was the fastest female at 1:09.49.
