Amy Gundy

Age: 35

PERSONAL RECORDS:
I know I still have some CTC Youth Summer Program records. However, I am happy to be running after all these years, and that is my personal record.

Weekly Mileage: 30 minutes four times a week

When Did You Start Running? I started running in track club races when I was seven years old. I’m even in the 25 Years Ago column!!

Who Is Your Running Role Model? Who Has Influenced You Most In Running? My family - The entire Hessler family was involved in running when I was growing up. I am the oldest of four kids, and I remember begging my younger brother not to pass me in the one-hour run one year. I have always admired my siblings and dad for their dedication and life-long love of running. My mom has been supportive with her time and love throughout the years.

Running in School: I ran at Hickman High School and was a member of two State Championship cross country teams. I also ran track and cross country at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN.

What Is Your Favorite Workout? I love the MKT trail and running down Stewart Road, especially on an early Sunday morning.

Personal Info and Interests: I have two beautiful children, Connor, 7, and Heidi, 5. In addition, I have a wonderful husband, Gary, and we like to run together. We all enjoy riding bikes throughout Columbia. I enjoy being part of the Columbia Track Club and the camaraderie that comes with running in the races.
