How old are you? I am ALMOST 27 years old. I was born on March 13, 1981.

How long have you been running? I have been running since graduating from MU in 2003.

Who are your running influences? My running influences are two of my best friends, Will Gibson and Jimmy Hulshof. I always had to listen to the two of them jabber about their latest race or training triumph. A few years ago, they encouraged me to run with them in the St. Patrick's Day 5K. I remember telling myself during the race, "Don't stop running!" I'll remind those guys every once in awhile how much that invitation still means to me.

How much do you run in a week? About 15 miles per week.

What's your favorite workout? Tom LaFontaine and I meet once a week for interval training at the Optimus Center for Health. We do 1 minute "jumpies" or 1/2 mile sprints. Tom says it's a great way to keep the central nervous system stimulated. I say it's a great way to wear yourself out in a very short amount of time!

Where is your favorite place to run? My absolute favorite place to run is Rock Bridge State Park. It's a roller coaster.

What are your running accomplishments? My biggest accomplishments are running the 2007 MU Homecoming 5K in 22 minutes and finishing the Lake Tahoe Half Marathon in 2006. Lake Tahoe is a race that takes place on a winding blacktop mountain road. It's hilly!

What are your running goals? My running goals for 2008 are to:

  1. run a sub 21-minute 5K
  2. complete another Half Marathon
  3. create a more efficient stride to help on those long runs

What do you do in your free time? In my free time I enjoy finishing my MBA (Jeremy, are you crazy?), playing tennis, biking at Rock Bridge State Park, working out at the Optimus Center, cooking, fishing with Dad and working on my house.
